Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has invested in Bengaluru based education-tech startup, Unacademy. The deal is a strategic one, and would see Sachin Tendulkar come in as a brand ambassador as well.

The deal would see Unacademy users being coached and mentored by the cricketing legend. These classes would be free of cost to all Unacademy users. As part of the deal, a series on sports learning will be developed in association with Sachin Tendulkar. These courses will be available in the coming months.

Unacademy’s journey

Unacademy is an Indian online education technology company based in Bangalore. It was originally created as a YouTube channel in 2010 by Gaurav Munjal. As a company, it was founded by Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini, and Hemesh Singh in 2015. Unacademy is headquartered in Bangalore. It now has over 49,000 teachers on its platform. Facebook is one of its major investors. The company acquired Kreatryx, PrepLadder and Codechef in 2020 to encompass more avenues of learning and also launched its Graphy app for interactive stories & books.
